Be Still and Know That I Am God

One of my most favorite human beings on the planet is my friend Tricia Heyer. Tricia's an Ohio born beautiful redhead, married to my friend Peter, mother to two teenage boys Tucker and Tyler and just so happens to be a New York Times bestselling author.

Twice annually Tricia leads a writing retreat and workshop called, "The Pen and The Page". Time away with Tricia and fellow writers is always rich and meaningful. One of Tricia's methods is to write 'whole thoughts'...then break them down line by line. I've used this technique in one of my favorite Bible verses below.

Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

Be still and know that I am God

Be still and know that I am.

Be still and know.

Be still.

Be.

Be still and know that I am God

God, I acknowledge your divine presence. It is You Who mastered the universe, Who created the stars that I look to every night and on top of that You named them! You God have known me always. You made me, You knitted me fearfully and wonderfully. I've been told there were others before me and after me but were lost in pregnancy. But You God, You gave me life and strength Lord. Thank You.

Be still and know that I am

Yes God, I know you are God. My God.

Be still and know

Yes God, You know all the plans You have prepared for me. You are the Master Architect of the universe. All that has, is and will happen is by Thy Will. Praise You!

Be still

Oh Lord God this is the part that is so hard for me. Why is it so hard for for me even now to be still? Even when I see and sense Your Presence I struggle to linger. Sometimes Your beauty is so much to absorb at once. It's as though I'm not worthy enough to be still and enjoy all that You have provided for me. Your love is overwhelming, Lord Your beauty so great. You God are my favorite Artist!

Be

Yes God, just be. Be in the moment. Be present. Be available. Be a wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, friend. Be joyful, kind, compassionate, caring, selfless, giving, generous, loving, aware and appreciative.

Prayer

This is my prayer Lord. I pray to embrace the moments where Your Presence fills the air. Amen.
