I Need To Talk To You, God

Wondering today if you have a favorite Scripture verse...Perhaps one you’ve adopted as your family blessing or maybe it’s a passage that you live by to stay focused and purposeful. There are those verses stored in our memory banks for times when a friend is in need of hope or encouragement, or are otherwise feeling out of sorts.

You may also have a verse that’s rocked your core during a Sunday morning sermon or personal Bible study. I can lay claim to all of these examples and imagine you can as well. Today however, I want to focus in on a specific verse that is so merciful, entirely loving, completely empowering, and amazingly awesomeYes, I used the word “awesome” because the author of Hebrews makes a truly AWESOME statement...are you ready?

Hebrews 4:16 Let us come BOLDLY to the throne of Grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace in time of need. (NKJV)

Or maybe this version speaks to you...

So let’s walk right up to Him and get what He is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help. (The Message)

Stop for just a moment, close your eyes and imagine what that means. No really, stop and imagine. I’ll be right here.

What did you just see? Was God real for you? Where was He? Was it Glorious? Or, did you feel unworthy? Are you that person that feels God doesn’t hear your prayers or doesn’t have time for you? If those questions shook you, stop and take this nugget of truth right into your heart. We, (all of us...that includes you) have received an invitation to the most Glorious place we will ever know...directly into God’s Holy Presence where He waits longingly to hear our hearts, catch our tears and hear our PRAYERS. The author of Hebrews calls it, “The Throne of Grace”. He also tells us to COME BOLDLY! There are no barriers to break through-that veil was torn the day Jesus died on the cross at Calvary!

There are no requirements, deeds nor tasks, no shame, no condemnation-but instead our merciful, loving God-Who already knows everything about each one of us... is waiting.

Prayer Dear Lord, I’m sending my R.S.V.P. Table for 2, You and I. Love, Hilly
